Silky Smooth, Brisk Walk, Distinct Scent

1. The transition from sticky to satiny softness that comes 5 minutes after putting lotion on my hands.

2. I decided to walk to the post office today instead of riding my bike. It’s not a particularly beautiful walk, and it takes a little longer, but it was refreshing to slow down and take the time to notice things I normally zip right on by.

3. At the post office counter an almost-forgotten, distinctive smell tugs at my awareness, instantly transporting me to thoughts of home, laughter at Old C’s, and bookstores. Looking around in surprise, I find an elderly couple beside me carefully counting out stacks of U.S. dollars in 20s, 10s, and 5s. I never realized that currency could have its own unique aroma.
