I've Been There...

A few days ago the news was showing a clip of a city experiencing high winds and heavy rain. The streets were deserted, save for one lone woman out on the sidewalk who was valiantly trying to make her way to her destination on foot.

She struggled against the wind with her umbrella for a few seconds before closing it with an air of resignation and allowing herself the dubious pleasure of getting soaked. I could almost picture her car right around the corner, a haven in the storm. Oh, if only the dratted kasa had held out a few more minutes!

As one speaking who has braved the elements only to discover my rain shield made little difference whatsoever, it was both funny and sad.
