So... Exhausted...

Man, I am so incredibly beat this evening. Both Ash and I are nursing wounds from active participation in one of the most entertaining and tiring days of the school year, known simply as “undoukai”.*

To borrow a phrase from my friend Kyle, “that last sentence might not have been totally true in the strictest interpretation of the word ‘true’ ”. I’m actually dealing with a foot that began to hurt for no apparent reason yesterday and has nothing to do with the 15 seconds I took part in a spoon race, unless ignoring the pain today while scampering around taking pictures made things worse. Ash, on the other hand, is nursing legitimate battle injuries from briefly turning back the clock to when he was a track-and-field runner in high school and participating in a 200-meter dash. Ah, the days of youth.

It’s nothing serious, just some scrapes, bumps, and bruises... you know, the type that happen rarely once the impetuousness of the teenage and college years have passed by. We’re all growed up now after all, so such antics are behind us... well, either that, or we simply don’t come across as many opportunities as we once did.

This past week has been insanely busy for both of us as well, which means both mental and physical exhaustion are at the same level. Updates and pics of Hokkaido and the undoukai are on their way, as soon as I shake off this zombie-like stupor I’m in.

Thank goodness there are two days in a weekend.

*The most common English translation equates to “Sport’s Day”.
