Rice Fields

... as far as the eye can see.

The rice is much taller now, as this picture was taken in June. Nevertheless, they will fill our field of vision as we ride the train to Tokyo and beyond.

Weekend Destination: Kamakura

Update: Or rather, it would have been Kamakura had the weather not turned dark, menacing, and just plain ugly.

New Weekend Destination: Matsudo, Ueno, Odaiba, Shinjuku, Harajuku, Nakano (also known as "kickin' it around Tokyo")

I got to say, I'm a bit disappointed by the picture of Kamakura. Not that it looks like a bad town or anything, actually it looks like a very nice ocean side town... but it also looks like any AMERICAN ocean side town. I suppose the world is all basically starting to look the same (at least when viewed from a distance), kind of sad really.

Oh well, have fun, it looks like a nice place to relax.

Star: Let's relax on our vacation!

Ash: Let's run around, explore, and see everything there is to see on our vacation!

Normal Compromise: Somewhere in the middle...

... except when it comes to Tokyo and the surrounding areas. My feet are tired. It's a good kind of exhaustion though :)

I'll let you know what Kamakura looks like for real whenever we get around to actually going there.
