Funk'll Get'cha

Christopher Walken is the only Weapon of Choice.

He has taught us to never be ashamed to bust a move. I know I can’t be the only one out there who gets the urge to dance and leap down every hallway full of mirrors I come across.

Hmm, I think it's just you... and Christopher Walken... and Dakota and Emma... and Heather...
Yup, everybody's weird but me.

Just the other day Dakota walked into our bedroom while Heather was watching "So you think you can dance" (think American Idol, but with dancing) and broke into dance. It was pretty hilarious. Of course, little kid dancing consists of standing in one spot, with your feet perfectly still, and twisting at the waist... actually, that's still how I dance.

Christopher Walken is awesome, by the way, and you, my friend, are doing an awful lot of youtubing for someone who was so against it previously... Well, as the drug dealer (which is mostly my role in this little allegory) always says in those after school dramas, "The first hit's free, but after that it's gonna cost ya."

I may not get the urge to dance down EVERY hallway full of mirrors I come across but sometimes the beat requires some moves, hallway or no. In any case, I think that music video is about the only one that I've seen that warranted a second viewing. It's fun to watch and the lyrics give reference to Frank Herbert's Dune.

He is a fabulous actor, isn't he? His "champagne" skit on Saturday Night Live never fails to crack me up.

Give credit where credit is due Kyle... Ash was the one who got me started on looking up Mr. Walken's music video antics. Is it MY fault that youtube.com just happens to accumulate every video I've ever wanted to see?

It is a slippery slope though, and you, my friend, can fully take the credit for pushing me down it ;P

Last night Ash and I looked up what movies Christopher Walken has been in... the number is staggering.

In the process, we learned a neat piece of trivia. Did you know he had originally intended to study dance instead of acting?

And suddenly the choice to have him dance in this music video all makes sense...
